Nancy Kerr & James Fagan at Blaxhall Village Hall, Woodbridge
About the show
NANCY KERR and JAMES FAGAN, one of the most beloved and enduring acts in British folk, open the ninth season of The Blaxhall Sessions.
Twice Winners of "Best Duo" at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, they combine stunning vocals and stellar instrumentation on fiddle, guitar and bouzouki with Nancy's insightful and poetic lyrics.
The couple have brought joy, inspiration and some memorably energetic arrangements to global audiences since their fortuitous meeting in 1995.
Their duo remains at the heart of their varied career that has included Melrose Quartet, The Full English, Simpson Cutting Kerr, Nancy Kerr & The Sweet Visitor Band and more. From traditional ballads and fiery Northumbrian fiddle tunes, through to some of Nancy's most popular originals like "Queen of Waters", "Dark Honey", "I Am The Fox", and Australian classics like "Anderson's Coast" and "The Drover's Boy", this set will cover the great dynamic and thematic range for which Nancy and James are so admired.
