Established in 1994, The Brook is a lively, diverse and successful Independent Music Venue located in Portswood, Southampton, approximately two miles north of Southampton city centre. It is a large and beautiful old building full of character and charm, yet still remains an intimate concert venue, where all who want can get up close and personal with the bands. It boasts fantastic sounds thanks to the split-level layout, with superb facilities. The wide stage is complimented by an equally wide dance floor, both of which are overlooked by a wrap-around balcony that gives a perfect view of the performance.

The Brook is for artists and customers who are lovers of this unrivalled atmosphere be it with an audience of 300 or at the 550 capacity. It is for those who are excited by the variety of high quality music on offer, and reaches out to a local and wider community and even an international fan base.

Getting there

By car: The Brook advises customers to park at the rear of the venue on the street or one of the car parks at the Belgrave Industrial Estate from 6pm. Please do not leave cars overnight in the car park and do not park on the corner or block any part of the road as lorries use it 24 hours a day. Further street parking is available on Portswood Road, but check restrictions before 6pm.

By train: Swaythling and St Denys local railway stations are approximately 20 minutes walk from the venue. Southampton Central and Southampton Parkway are a short taxi ride away.

Eating and drinking

The Brook offers a limited food menu of Pieminister pie and mash. Nearby restaurants include La Baronia (Mexican) at 29-31 Portswood Road, Mango (Thai Tapas) at 27 Portswood Road and The Drummond Arms (traditional pub food) at 56 Somerset Road.

Hotels

The Premier Inns at Southampton Airport, Southampton City Centre and Cumberland Place and the Southampton Travelodge are a short taxi ride from the venue.

Accessibility
