The Barrel House Ballroom, Totnes and 3 DoW present the Music Venue Trust Fundraiser on 26th April.
In recent years, it has become increasingly obvious the challenges facing grassroots music venues throughout the country. MUSIC VENUE TRUST (A British charitable orgasnisation) plays a hugely significant role in protecting, securing and improving grassroots music venues in the UK
All musicians have to start somewhere! Original bands, like those on this bill, rely upon venues such as the Barrel House to champion new talent and unsigned acts by providing the space to enable creative performance, nurture talent, foster creativity and connect local communities.
Grassroots music venues are essential part of our cultural backdrop.
All proveeds from this gig will go to MVT to help them continue in their charitable endeavours. We ask you to join us for one of the best parties we can give - live original music performed at one of the best grassroots music venues in the country.
Die Twice
Hailing from Exeter, alt.rock four-piece Die Twice have already amassed a dedicated following in their hometown for their explosive live shows, selling out the 500 capacity Exeter Phoenix just one year after their first gig. With soaring vocals, duelling guitars, funked up beats and punk rock bass, coupled with a lyricism that belies their young age, Die Twice effortlessly channel a sound that nods to their heroes of the past and present. With influences from Jeff Buckley to Zeppelin, to Arctic Monkeys, to Blues, to pop and just a hint of Math rock, Die Twice create something that is wholly their own.
