About the show
Pam Ayres has spent a lifetime providing hilarious and profound insights into the delights and tribulations of everyday life. She comes to Taunton to talk about her latest book, DOGGEDLY ONWARD – A LIFE IN POEMS, 1970 to 2020s.
Pam has gathered her career’s work of poetry into this book, which traces the course of her life, and illustrates how her work has provoked laughter, and some tears, in people around the world.
Recent TV appearances include two series of The Cotswolds for Channel 5, This Morning, Alan Titchmarsh, Countdown and Would I Lie To You?
Featuring
Pam Ayres
Pam Ayres has been a writer, broadcaster, and entertainer for over 40 years, and is one of the few authors who has had books in the Sunday Times bestseller charts in almost every decade since the 1970s. 'Pam Ayres has an incredible way with an audience. She was really one of the funniest comics I've seen, and it's because of her rapport. She just treats the audience like a huge roomful of friends' (The York Press) 'Pam Ayres is a proper poet, whose wistful, funny, and perceptive verse captures both the joy and unfairness of life’ (The Sunday Times).
