Aircooled is an East Sussex-based "supergroup" formed during the COVID-19 lockdown, known for producing "guitar-tainted machine rock," disco-funk, and extended motorik grooves. The band is deeply rooted in the UK indie scene, with members hailing from prominent 90s bands.
Members Justin Welch: Drums (formerly of Elastica, Suede, Lush, Piroshka, The Jesus and Mary Chain) Katharine Wallinger: Bass (The Wedding Present, Viv Albertine) Oliver Cherer: Vocals and guitar (Gilroy Mere, Dollboy, Miki Berenyi Trio, and formerly of Bexhill’s "Music’s Not Dead" record shop) Riz Maslen: Vocals, keyboards, and flute (Neotropic, Future Sound of London) Mew: Synthesizer/artwork (formerly of Elastica) Pablo Cook: Extra percussion (The Mescaleros)
