The Balliol College Musical Society brings you another tour de force: after his incredibly warm reception, seeing 400 people across four concerts in Oxford and Cambridge last November, the continuous music of the wizard pianist Lubomyr Melnyk will be returning to Oxford for two concerts in New College's "New Space".

We are glad to announce that he will be accompanied by a documentary maker working with Werner Herzog, and that all audience members are invited to participate in a pilot study run by https://creativeempirical.com. This unique take on Western classical tradition - influenced too by the Indian classical virtuosi and Eastern philosophies more generally - offers an extraordinary, orchestral sound emanting from the one resonating piano, with many voices lines carrying many textures, all rooted in Beethoven's harmonies.
