About the show
Amid rising concerns about the manosphere and calls to protect women and girls in the news, for our next session of Pints & Politics we're asking "Do YOU need feminism?"
We'll be joined by experienced feminist campaigners including Lowenna the founder of Nottingham's Femme Fair and Lydia one of the team behind the campaign which led to Nottingham being the first place in the country to recognise misogyny as a hate crime. Together we'll explore what feminism is, what its set out to achieve, whether it's achieved it's goals and asking if it feels relevant to you in 2026. And don't think this is just a question for women - we want to hear everyone's opinions!
Not your typical politics event - Pints & Politics evenings are designed to be an informal space to learn about the big issues in our society, how decisions that affect us get made and to share your thoughts on how they impact you and what we can do about them locally.
Non partisan and focussed on community - We’re not affiliated to a political party and are community based. The aim isn’t to score points or convince others of your opinion - it’s not a debate club. It’s a place for us to learn together. It's for everyone who is curious about the world around them and wants to build community and take action for a better world where all of us can thrive.
On the night - Join us at The Grove in Sneinton Market on 17th August at 7pm. This time we'll be focussing on all things feminism and how/if you think it's relevant to your life. The evening will include some fun themed activities to warm us up, structured input on the issue and group discussions to understand your key questions and opinions. As well as a chance to meet new people over snacks and generally just have a good time!
