It's Nice Up North

Join us for a 20th anniversary screening tour of this much-loved comedy documentary, celebrating the late photographer Martin Parr, whose distinctive vision is central to the film’s enduring appeal.

The evening’s second half features a new short film showcasing outtakes and previously unseen footage, revealing Parr’s humorous, sometimes fractious relationship with the film’s director and Shuttleworth’s creator, Graham Fellows.

This will be followed by a Q&A, hosted by Jack Newsinger, Associate Professor and Deputy Director of the Institute for Screen Industries Research at the University of Nottingham.
