About the show
In 2023, five confirmed colleagues - four voices and a lute - on the early music stage - established Dowland’s Foundry: an ensemble whose heartland repertoire is the golden age of Elizabethan song, and named after its most iconic exponent, the lutenist John Dowland. In the first of two concerts in the Dowland 400 festival, they perform songs from the songbooks of 1597 and 1600.
