About the show
Marquee Square Heroes bring the fire and theatre of Fish-era Marillion to Cullercoats Crescent Club, North Shields, as part of a North of England and Scotland tour for fans who like their music atmospheric, emotional and unapologetically live. Expect the drama, the dynamics and the lift-off moments, from intimate verses that pull you in to choruses that hit hard, delivered with the kind of conviction that turns a gig into a shared experience.
This is a band with genuine pedigree. Featuring musicians with links to prog contemporaries such as Credo and Twelfth Night, plus players who have worked in the wider live circuit including the Owen Paul Band and Winterspell featuring ex Dream Theater members, Marquee Square Heroes sit right in that sweet spot where musicianship meets heart. They have also earned recognition in the scene, including being featured in Prog magazine, and it shows in the detail, the power and the respect for the songs, without losing the spark that makes a tribute night feel like a proper event.
There is also a welcome bonus for local fans. With a previously scheduled Newcastle date now off the calendar due to circumstances beyond the band’s control, this North Shields show is being offered at a reduced ticket price, making it the ideal chance to catch the tour up close.
If you ever lost yourself in those early Marillion records, or you want to hear those songs done with real weight and passion, this is your night.
