About the show
What is the nature of contemporary witchcraft? And what role can it play in our modern world? Dr Rebecca Beattie grew up on Dartmoor and was trained in a Wiccan coven. She will talk about natural mysticism and how it is deeply connected to the idea of place: in her case, Dartmoor.
Dr Rebecca Beattie is an author and teacher who is known as the Green Witch. She is the author of 6 books including The Wheel of the Year and The Way Through the Woods. She is a tutor at Treadwell’s https://www.treadwells-london.com/ and runs workshops on diverse subjects including living by the cycles of the moon and working with the ancestors.
Sarah Ransome is a former journalist who worked for the BBC as Network TV and Radio Correspondent for more years than she cares to remember. Now she helps others tell complicated stories with clarity, and confidence. In her spare time she can be found on Dartmoor walking with her ever-curious spaniel, Rosie, or by the sea at sunset.
This is part of the second Dartmoor Tors Festival, from 30 April – 3 May at various venues around Ashburton, south Dartmoor.
