Since their formation, Shelf have performed at Bestival, London Pride, and been nominated for Sketchfest’s Best New Act award. They were finalists in the Funny Women 2019 Stage Award. Their work has appeared on BBC3 and LADBible. They are founding members of sell out monthly night The LOL Word, which showcases queer women and non-binary comedians from across the London comedy circuit. They are board members of the cult hit Alternative Comedy Memorial Society, with whom they regularly perform in London and Edinburgh.

Tom Bell

Prolific sketch and stand-up comedian. He has performed at Edinburgh as part of the double act Tommy & The Weeks plus as stand-up performer in his own right. “Tom Bell is one of life’s natural sowers of joy…He’s marvelously at ease on the stage, zingy, confident and somehow adorable all at once” (Three Weeks).

Carl started performing stand-up regularly in the early part of 2005 and quickly established himself as one of the most exciting new comics climbing the comedy ladder. His confident, conversational style and childish sense of humour has seen him become a regular at clubs all over the country including various universities as part of the Avalon Comedy Network. He won the 2007 Chortle Award for the best newcomer and the 2007 Leicester Mercury Comedian Of The Year Award. Toby Hadoke appearing at this event

Toby Hadoke

'Toby is an actor, writer and comedian, who has a stupid name that no-one can pronounce or spell. He was born in a small cottage in Ludlow, Shropshire at the turn of the century, and even as a baby, sported a rather manly collection of facial hair.' Manchester comedy Legend and host of XS Malarkey. Toby was the inaugural winner of The Les Dawson Award, beating a shortlist including Peter Kay, Daniel Kitson, Dave Spikey, Ken Dodd, Caroline Ahearne, Craig Cash and Steve Coogan. He works regularly in TV and Radio having appeared in shows ranging from Coronation Street to Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights.
