About the show
Andy Zaltzman – host of The News Quiz and The Bugle podcast, statistician on Test Match Special, Taskmaster series 18 champion – returns with his stand-up review of the global year, for the first time this decade.
In this work in progress show, Andy will attempt to harness the powers of modern and ancient technologies to find shards of genuine hope amongst the cavalcade of cantankerousness, before 2026 is certifiably consigned to the history books, where it emphatically belongs.
Featuring - Andy Zaltzman
Andy Zaltzman delivers his clued-up political comedy with surreal similes and often punchlines of pure silliness and has become an Edinburgh Festival staple. He writes a regular cricket blog for Cricinfo and co-presents The Bugle, a weekly satirical podcast for TimesOnline with John Oliver.
'A purveyor of subtle but excellent political satire' (Julian Hall, The Independent)
'... a masterful comedian, running through a variety of original material with ease and intelligence… his blend of intellect and comic timing make him a must-see at the Fringe this year' (Katy King, Three Weeks)
'Probably the best satirical comic we’ve produced in the last two decades. Intelligent, biting and silly' (Time Out)
'Political comedy at its best' (Sunday Times).
