About the show
Rebecka Edlund and Nat Philipps open this year’s first season of the Downstairs Living Room series exploring the sound of new beginnings. Inspired by songs of the folk and jazz worlds, Edlund and Philips invite the listener on a jaunt into freely improvised territories. Come along for sonic and emotional fragility, depth and red rocking chairs.

Rebecka Edlund
Rebecka is a London-based Swedish singer, lyricist and composer with a soft spot for the ocean, anecdotes and rusty orange. Her music is a concoction of jazz and Scandinavian folk music, whale song, bird whistles and other beautiful, peculiar sounds. Rebecka explores freely improvised storytelling, contemporary songwriting, and composing for unconventional lineups.
