About the show
Sydney-based piano maestro, Chris Abrahams (The Necks), plays a very rare Vortex show, in the company of pivotal London percussionist, Mark Wastell.
The pair recorded a critically acclaimed EP length CD in 2018, A Thousand Sacred Steps (Confront Recordings), described as "high recommended" by the New York Jazz Record, and "wonderful" by drumming legend, Tony Oxley (Cecil Taylor).
A new, full length album was recorded during a studio session at the Vortex in May 2025, and is due for releases this spring, imaginatively titled, Two Thousand Sacred Steps.
