About the show
Now in its 19th year, the WeGotTickets Musical Comedy Awards is the UK’s premier showcase for emerging musical comedy talent.
Past finalists and winners include Abandoman, Rachel Parris, Adam Kay, Mae Martin, Jay Foreman and Jazz Emu.
Who will win the 2027 WeGotTickets Musical Comedy Awards? Join us at the beautiful Phoenix in Oxford Circus for six Saturday afternoons of hilarious musical comedy! If you enjoy the comedy of Bill Bailey, Tim Minchin and Flight of the Conchords, then this is the show for you!
Grab yourself a drink and some delicious Phoenix food before watching ten acts deliver six minutes of their finest musical comedy material. Once all the acts have performed, our judges and audience vote for their favourite six to go through to the next round. We then round off the afternoon with a set from our headliner.
The Phoenix shows are hosted by resident MCA MC Nick Horseman, one half of our 2010 runners-up, Horse and Louis.
Book yourself in for the annual celebration of the UK’s best musical comedians!
Headlining heat three are the fantastic Plastic Jeezus!
Ed Byrne - "These guys are genuinely hilarious"
Chris McCausland - "I can't recommend these guys enough. They are dark, daft and bloody hilarious!"
Angela Barnes - "Really funny lads and songs that had me howling. Go see them, they deserve full houses"
Winners of 2022's South Coast Comedian of the Year, 'Best Newcomer' at the Musical Comedy Awards 2021, and British Comedian of the Year 2023 semi-finalists, Simon and Aaron are Plastic Jeezus - a deadpan, ukulele-totin', musical comedy duo. Plastic Jeezus have been making waves up and down the country with their hilarious and often surreal original songs, all delivered in their own unique, straight-faced way.
