Orchestre Poly-Rythmo

The core of the band, Melome Clement, Eskill Lohento, and Francois Hoessou, created a remarkable new fusion by combining the sounds they had heard in Lagos with two traditional Vodun rhythms: Sato and Sakpata. Combining these patterns with soulful organ sounds and psychedelic guitar riffs, they recorded dozens of 45's at the Afrodisia studios. It is estimated that the Orchestre Poly-Rythmo have recorded over 50 LPs and 100 45s during the span of their career.
