A touring Company founded in 1997 The Rude Mechanical Theatre Company, affectionately known as The Rudes, offer a distinctive brand of original, professional theatre, incorporating mime, clown white make-up, original live music, visual storytelling and comedy. Their work is influenced by the Commedia dell'arte, silent movies, slapstick, vaudeville, pantomime, clowning, music hall and circus. They are best known for their outdoor theatre shows but often perform in a circus style big top and in other performance spaces.
