Alongside NYJO musicians, opening the series will be special guest musicians from the high-energy, progressive London jazz collective Levitation Orchestra.
National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NYJO)
NYJO is world-famous as a glittering showcase for the UK’s best young jazz musicians. Under the direction of Mark Armstrong, the orchestra deftly mixes established classics from the big band repertoire, new work by composers at the leading-edge of the art-form and special arrangements by band members. Levitation Orchestra
'Co-operatively composed music which is co-operatively owned.' This is the ethos of Levitation Orchestra, a collective, as well as an open platform for artists to learn from one another. Founded in 2018 by Axel Kaner-Lidstrom, the group features some of London’s most creative and individual instrumentalists.
