Canadian five piece band whose name is a tribute to the children's writer Shel Silverstein. Originally a super-group featuring members from several Southern Ontario bands, Silverstein formed in 2000 and quickly became the main focus for its members. Their music breaks down the boundaries between related genres such as punk, hardcore and emo, achieving a synthesis that has delighted audiences in Canada and everywhere else the band tours.

Silverstein is vocalist Shane Told, bassist Billy Hamilton, drummer Paul Koehler, guitarist Josh Bradford and newcomer Paul Marc Rousseau.
