About the show

Hailing from the sleepy seaside town of Eastbourne, The Equatorial Group is formed of five friends from various and differing musical backgrounds. By navigating and taming this musical tug-of-war, they have created three records, in which some listeners hear the shadows of Neil Young or the colours of Fleetwood Mac.

A myriad of classic influences swirl beneath the surface and their sound defies easy categorisation, often sparking lively debate among listeners. But whether defined as roots-pop, folk rock, dreamy alt-country or anglo-americana, the heart of the band lies in connection, storytelling, and atmosphere. New album 'Sunseeker' is out now on Musics Not Dead Records.

The Equatorial Group appearing at this event

Sounding like Crazy Horse colliding with Fleetwood Mac on a dusty road, The Equatorial Group are five friends from the East Sussex coast sharing their love of one-note guitar solos, stormy seas and heartache. Featuring Twe Fox on keys & vocals, Andy Tourle on bass & vocals, Dave Davies on guitar & vocals, James Hillman on drums and Helen Weeks on pedal steel/guitar & vocals, they produce a gentle landscape of sparkling harmonies, or a thirst-inducing ramshackle racket, as the moment takes them.
