The Rheingans Sisters at Green Note, London
About the show
Critics have hailed their music as “extraordinary” and “fearless”, with The Guardian describing their 2024 album Start Close In as a “radical leap”. In three special live shows this Autumn at Camden’s best small music venue, The Rheingans Sisters will revisit material from their five-album discography to celebrate their life’s work together so far as well as showcasing new material from the duo plus both sisters’ solo songwriting.
In these uniquely stripped back and intimate shows, expect the haunting BBC Radio 2 Folk Award-winning song Mackerel to finally return alongside the timeless beauty of old classics like October Song, the epic balladry of This Forest and the wildness of Urjen plus brand new songs from both Rowan and Anna. A decade and a half of sisterly artistry distilled into a breathtaking evening; a chance to glimpse back with The Rheingans Sisters before their next leap forward.
Featuring - The Rheingans Sisters

The Rheingans Sisters are Rowan and Anna Rheingans, who are primarily fiddle players and singers. Incorporating traditions from across Scandinavia, Britain and America, they play both traditional and contemporary folk music. Between them, they additionally play banjo, english concertina, cello and bansitar, and use these to create a distinctive experimental tone to their music.
