Jimmy Eat World

Jimmy Eat World are an American rock group who may have taken the slow road to success but are now one of the world's favourite alt-rock bands. Originally inspired by acts such as Fugazi and Sunny Day Real Estate, their punkish, emo sound has now won over the hearts of millions.

A hardcore punk rock band from Chicago, with a positive outlook that separates them from many of their peers. Since 1999 they've been mixing the furious energy of old-school hardcore with a more melodic sound, blending influences in a way that shouldn't work but does. Musically the band presses all the right buttons, but they are also very socially aware people, and have used their ever-growing profile to support numerous good causes.

The Get Up Kids write great catchy poppy emo-rock songs filled with terrific melodies, singalongable heartfelt lyrics, and great vocals that convey a mood of sunny afternoon heartbreak.
