Winner of the 2019 Parliamentary Award ‘Jazz Instrumentalist of the year’, Josephine Davies is a saxophonist, composer and bandleader at the forefront of the UK contemporary music scene.
Tonight’s gig is a collaboration with the virtuoso Tuba player and inventor of the Orenophone, Oren Marshall, and drummer Tim Giles, known for his creative and dynamic improvisation.
They will play a combination of original compositions and pieces by experimental musicians such as Sun Ra and Roland Kirk. Expect an evening of interesting trio interplay, freewheeling creativity and above all, riotous fun.
