About the show
By the time The R&B Collective takes the stage, the room is already warmed up. The DJ starts from midday, lunch is on the table and the soundtrack is pure 90s and 00s R&B.
After a run of sold-out evening shows, the five-piece band returns to Boisdale with the songs people still know every word to. Expect smooth vocals, rich harmonies, deep basslines and soulful horn lines, with classics inspired by TLC, Usher, Blackstreet, Donell Jones and Ne-Yo.
The set moves from slow jams to singalong hooks and dancefloor favourites, bringing the feel of the era to life without overworking it. It is polished, warm and full of those “I forgot how good this song is” moments. A resident DJ keeps things moving from 12pm to 4pm, with classic R&B and soulful throwbacks before and after the live set.
Served alongside Boisdale’s three-course lunch, this is a Saturday made for birthdays, catch-ups, celebrations and groups that want good food with a proper soundtrack. The first-floor bar and outdoor terrace are open for pre-show and post-show drinks until late, subject to availability.
Featuring - The RnB Collective
Step into the golden era of R&B with The RnB Collective, an ensemble of world-class musicians bringing the seductive grooves and slow jams of the 90s and 00s to life in true Boisdale style. With alumni from the acclaimed RnB Orchestra, they breathe new soul into genre-defining tracks by the likes of TLC, Aaliyah, Usher, Destiny’s Child, Brandy and Ne-Yo.
The Collective’s musicianship speaks for itself: think session legends who’ve shared stages and studios with the best in the business, from major festivals to studio cuts that have shaped British R&B. This is the sound of slow-burn excellence - polished, emotive and effortlessly cool. Whether it’s the bittersweet pull of “The Boy Is Mine”, the slick perfection of “So Sick”, or the undeniable swagger of “No Scrubs”, every note is delivered with precision, heart and a deep respect for the culture that birthed the genre.
One for the lovers, the old-school heads and anyone who knows that great R&B never goes out of style.
