About the show

Childless toymaker Geppetto lovingly carves a wooden puppet, unaware of the whirlwind of chaos he is about to set loose. Pinocchio, longing for adventure, runs away in search of excitement - but instead finds dazzling temptations hiding unexpected dangers.

Returning home in hope of sympathy, he soon discovers that his troubles are far from over. Running away hasn't worked; lying won't help. To find the sense of belonging he so desperately craves, he must learn what it truly means to become a real boy.

Carlo Collodi's beloved classic has been translated into more than 260 languages since its original publication in 1883. This summer, Illyria brings the magical coming-of-age tale to life in a thrilling outdoor musical production at the Lincolnshire Showground.
