Leek Arts Festival, in collaboration with Staffordshire Moorlands Walking Festival and OUTSIDE Arts invite you to an Evening with Stuart Maconie.
Stuart Maconie is a prolific, popular and extremely highly regarded TV and radio presenter, journalist, columnist and best-selling author. Join him as he talks about his books and broadcasting work, his forthcoming book about The Beatles and his love of walking and the outdoors.
Stuart Maconie hosts BBC Radio 6 Music’s Weekend Breakfast between 8 and 10am, and is back on 6 Music again on Sunday evenings with his own show, The Freak Zone. Stuart also hosts Loose Ends on BBC Radio 4, and is member of the north of England team on Round Britain Quiz. He’s the host of the BBC Northern Soul Orchestrated shows, and his most recent book, The Full English was a Waterstones Paperback of the Year in 2024. His next book, With A Little Help From Their Friends, will be published in June this year.
Stuart Maconie
Radio presenter, writer, journalist and critic. He co-hosts the Radcliffe and Maconie Show on BBC Radio 2, and presents his own show (Freak Zone) on BBC 6 Music. Stuart is also a respected author and the UK's best-selling travel writer of non-TV tie-in books and his Pies And Prejudice was one of 2008's top selling paperbacks. His other books include Adventures on The High Teas and Cider with Roadies. In Hope and Glory, Stuart goes in search of the places, people and events that have shaped modern Britain.
