About the show
Celebrating one of the greatest songwriters of all time, through the unique voices of the artists she continues to inspire.
Following a revered debut at the Roundhouse in 2024, two sold out tours and widespread critical acclaim, The Songs of Joni Mitchell returns for some very special shows and festivals in 2026.
Jesca Hoop & Lail Arad, acclaimed singer-songwriters in their own right, will perform intimate interpretations of their favourite Joni Mitchell songs. They'll be joined by special guest performers at every port, each bringing something new to Joni's vast catalogue. Previous guests have included Kate Stables (This Is The Kit), Vashti Bunyan, Simon Armitage, Lisa Hannigan, Gail Ann Dorsey, Rachel Sermanni and Sam Amidon.
Originally conceived and curated by Lail Arad to mark Joni Mitchell's 80th birthday, the show was described as "a perfect celebration of Joni Mitchell" (Get In Her Ears), packed with "heartfelt and intricate performances".
Jesca Hoop, just a few months prior, presented Legend: The Joni Mitchell Story, the award-winning 6-part BBC Radio documentary and podcast about the life of Joni Mitchell, lending further gravitas to the event.
Featuring - Jesca Hoop
Quirky folk with an indie twist from Manchester-based Californian Hoop. A startling singer of complicated folk melodies that beguile with their lightness of touch.
Lail Arad
London-born Lail Arad has been songwriting her way through life for as long as she can remember. Her albums and performances have been heralded by everyone from Paper Magazine to The Financial Times, Billy Bragg to Ezra Furman.
'Leonard Cohen meets Velvet Underground' - Devandra Banhart.
