Tales of Spirits and Souls

“Tales of Spirits and Souls” is a chilling story of the Elf-King who spirits away a child, as told by Goethe and Schubert; songs from Vaughan Williams’ A Shropshire Lad; and A Wailing on the Wind, a brilliant piece that weaves musical styles of Irish ballads and reels and American 1940s Big Bands with a banshee’s cry, to tell the story of a lost love when a teenage boy learns family secrets that forge links between the past and present.

This is music and storytelling for everyone aged from 10 to 100. Sollar (String Quartet) with storyteller and tenor Daniel Norman perform by candlelight. Lasts about one hour without interval. Expect some Halloween treats and potions - it is Friday the 13th after all.
