We're delighted to finally welcome perhaps our most prestigious act ever to Grayshott Folk Club.
Folk music’s legendary triumvirate of musical magpies and mainstays of The Transatlantic Sessions, McGoldrick, McCusker and Doyle will bring you their own blend of top-class Folk songs, tunes and charming bonhomie. They are one of the most important and sought-after sets of performers in contemporary Celtic music....a true Folk super group whose influence reaches far beyond the tradition.
Individually and collectively, all three have won global acclaim:
Mike McGoldrick (Manchester – Flute, Whistles, Uileann Pipes, Bodhran, Clarinet, Congas) is a BBC Radio 2 Folk Award Winner, founding member of Lúnasa, and current member of Capercaillie. He has worked alongside Mark Knopfler and Eddi Reader.
BBC Radio 2 Folk Award Winner John McCusker (Glasgow – Fiddle, Whistles, Harmonium) has played with The Battlefield Band, Mark Knopfler, Eric Clapton and Bob Dylan, recorded with Paul Weller, and recently produced albums for Eddi Reader, Heidi Talbot and Kris Drever. We know from his visit to Grayshott Folk Club in June 2026, that John is the most exquisite Fiddle and Whistle player.
John Doyle (Dublin – Vocals, Guitar, Bouzouki, Mandola) is an Irish music linchpin and a founder member of acclaimed group Solas. He has worked with Joan Baez, Linda Thompson and Mary Chapin Carpenter.

Master of flutes, whistles and Uillean pipes Michael McGoldrick is a founding member of Flook and Lunasa and is a current member of Capercaille. John McCusker is a unique fiddle player and has worked alongside Paulo Nutini, Jools Holland, Steve Earle and Paul Weller. And finally, John Doyle's gifts as a guitarist, songwriter and vocalist have played an essential role in the ongoing of renaissance of Irish traditional music.
