Rob Clamp & The Ashmen are a high‑energy folk/Americana outfit from the South Coast, turning raw storytelling into big, full‑band, festival‑ready moments.
Fronted by award‑winning singer‑songwriter Rob Clamp, the band blends driving rhythms, soaring violin, mandolin, banjo, piano, and rich vocal harmonies to create a sound that moves effortlessly between intimate folk and electrified, foot‑stomping crescendos.
Built around the multi‑instrumental talents of Sam Weeks (drums/banjo), Ben Reid (piano/mandolin/guitar), Ed Bentley (bass) and Dave Elliott (violin/harmonica), The Ashmen bring depth, colour, and a wild, rootsy energy to Rob’s narrative‑driven songs. Their live shows have become known for their dynamic range — from pin‑drop acoustic moments to full‑throttle, loud‑folk finales that feel tailor‑made for festival stages.
Following the release of Rob’s acclaimed debut album Lost Soul (2024), the band have been building a reputation across the UK and Europe for their powerful performances, tight musicianship, and the unmistakable chemistry that comes from a group who genuinely love playing together.

Rob is an independent one man band from Southampton who mixes a blend of catchy acoustic riffs with a foot stomping beat. Having released his debut single ‘Wind In My Hair’ in 2020, Rob has gone on to be featured on the likes of BBC introducing, whilst continuing to be an ever present on the live music scene across the south coast of England.
Heavily influenced by the likes of; Ben Howard, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers and Bruce Springsteen - Rob’s music is filled with real life experiences, reflecting his transient lifestyle and describing the people he’s met.
