About the show
After more than a decade on the British blues circuit, John Doe Trio play their final ever show at The Oast, Rainham on Friday 30th October 2026.
Formed in Kent in 2013, they built their reputation the old-fashioned way — playing hard, playing honest, and letting the music do the talking. Fronted by guitarist and vocalist Phil Woollett alongside drummer Paul Townsend, the trio released their debut album Stranger in 2016 and followed it with the acclaimed Railroaded in 2020, both featuring original bassist Craig Ferguson. After Craig's departure, Phil's son Ben Woollett stepped in to complete the current lineup, and the band recorded their third album JD III in 2025.
Blues in Britain Magazine called them "a seriously tight-knit power trio of excellent musicians", and described Railroaded as a hard-riffing, blues-rocking blockbuster from a powerful band of exceptional musicians. American Blues Scene praised JD III as a testament to the trio's perseverance, with the potential to lift them to broader recognition in the blues world.
Three albums, countless shows, and a following that grew one unforgettable gig at a time. Expect a set built for the occasion — full of the blues, soul and unbridled energy that made them a must-see act at venues and festivals across Britain. One final chance.
The Oast sits beside Rainham station, built in the 1870s. Top room. Parking at the rear.
Doors 7.15pm.
