About the show
Good Habits are a dynamic Indie-folk band with a knack for turning existential musings into bursts of relentless optimism.
With vocals, cello, accordion, synths and drums at their core, they carve out a sound that’s virtuosic, cinematic and unapologetically fun. A blend of folk-ish storytelling, groove-driven energy and existential hope.
Formed by singer-cellist Bonnie Schwarz and accordionist/synth Pete Shaw, this couple began their band’s journey with a twist of fate: stranded in New Zealand during the pandemic, they set about transforming their temporary home into a whirlwind of creativity.
They fell in love with troubadour life of sharing songs, swapping stories, and building real human connections wherever they went. That sense of adventure, of music as both anchor and passport, has remained at the heart of their identity as they came home.
In 2025, Good Habits evolved into a new powerhouse line-up with the addition of drummer Jen Walinetski (Miles Kane), supercharging their already dynamic live show with a rhythmic drive that has electrified audiences. Together, they create performances that are equal parts virtuosic musicianship, mischievous energy, and deeply meaningful connection.
Their UK Top 40 Folk charting album ‘Quarter-Life’ won praise from BBC Radio 2, 6 Music, and 5 Live, and glowing reviews describing their sound as “musicianship at its 21st century best” (Tom Robinson, BBC), alongside recent festival appearances at Glastonbury, WOMAD, Ca
