Wide Awake is an independent festival for music fans looking to discover something different. We aim to showcase some of the best up-and-coming talent around, alongside some of our favourite bands.

Wide Awake is brought to you by Bad Vibrations, LNZRT and some of the original Field Day founders and the people behind MOTH Club and The Shacklewell Arms.

Kneecap

Kneecap are a frighteningly articulate rap group. Merging Irish with English, satire with socially conscious lyrics, and reality with absurdity, their lyrics often contain republican themes reinventing Irish rebel music.

CMAT

CMAT is an Irish singer, songwriter and musician whose songs have been described as '...mournful yet accessible, emotionally literate and cleverly crafted, but, crucially, with a huge sense of humour'. CMAT credits her career success to an in-person listening session at a London studio with English musician Charli XCX.

English Teacher

English Teacher is a four-piece indie band from Leeds. Made up of Lily Fontaine (vocals, rhythm guitar, synth), Douglas Frost (drums), Nicholas Eden (bass) and Lewis Whiting (lead guitar, synth), English Teacher are no strangers to self-deprecation. Formed in 2020 after meeting at Leeds Conservatoire, their brand of indie is more kitchen sink drama than straight-to-the-chorus smash.

Peaches

Merrill Beth Nisker, better known by her stage name Peaches, is a Canadian electronic musician and performance artist who lives in Berlin. The Queen of dirty rock is influenced by artists ranging from The Cramps to The Pretenders. She is the self-made, self-produced, do-it-yourself leader of the electro-punk movement and master of the original dirty lyrical classic. She is unique with her minimal pumping beats and loved by true innovators as diverse as Deborah Harry, Iggy Pop, Bjork, Josh Homme, Lil Kim, Kelis, 2 Many DJs, M.I.A. and LCD Soundsystem not to mention the entire fashion and art world. Her live shows are legendary - a one-woman Kiss concert that has left the pop world in awe.
