The Wolfe Tones, one of Ireland’s most legendary and renowned bands, have just been announced as headliners at On the Waterfront festival which returns to Liverpool’s iconic Pier Head from 19th – 22nd June 2025. Headlining Friday 20th June, The Wolfe Tones prepare to bid farewell to their English fans in what will be their final show in England.

With a career spanning over six decades, The Wolfe Tones’ journey from humble beginnings in Dublin has become the stuff of legend. Childhood friends Brian Warfield, Noel Nagle and Tommy Byrne began performing together in the early 60’s, sharing their love for Irish folk music at local fleadhs and quickly gaining a devoted following. Since then, they have graced the world’s most prestigious stages, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Paris Olympia and now Liverpool’s waterfront. Their influence has reached across the globe, with enduring popularity in the United Stages, where they have been honoured with the keys to both New York and Los Angeles.

As they return to Liverpool for one final night of unforgettable music, memories and Irish pride, tickets are expected to sell out fast. Fans are encouraged to sign up now for presale access to secure their chance to witness this ‘final farewell’. Info: www.onthewaterfrontfestival.com

The Wolfe Tones

The world's most popular Irish folk group. Success and subsequent fame have given the rebellious Wolfe Tones the opportunity to collect a wealth of old Irish songs and to write a few new ones. But the Wolfe Tones have never set out to please anybody but themselves. They play and sing the music they like - and they play it and sing it the way that they like. Luckily, a vast number of people throughout the world agrees with their taste.
