After the huge success of the first Dark Reign metal festival in June, we're delighted to welcome back the 2025 edition on Saturday 3rd May.

Heart Of A Coward are celebrated stalwarts of the British metal scene, and they headline this year's event alongside deathcore outfit Osiah from Sunderland. Joining them are Raised By Owls, Lokust, Draconian Reign, Dekaytah, Exhumation, Asleep At The Helm and Absolence, with more still to be announced.

More than just a festival, Dark Reign is a celebration of the enduring spirit of the music community in Merseyside. Immerse yourself in an all-day celebration of music, surrounded by energy and passion, with international artists from across the metal scene alongside the resurgent local metal music community.

Heart Of A Coward

Formed in 2009, Heart of a Coward have been on a steady incline since their inception. Now a house hold name in UK metal-core music, 2012 saw the release of their debut album ‘Hope and Hindrance’ and their debut video for ‘Shade’. Propelled into the spotlight by these early successes, the follow up album ‘Severance’ saw the band gain further popularity with singles ‘Deadweight’ and ‘Distance’. The band had clearly carved their unique twist of brutal heaviness, epic soundscapes and haunting melodies. The third album released ‘Deliverance’, featured the impressive single ‘Hollow’. This single showcased the bands capability for writing modern metal anthems and forging a strong connection with their audience. Renowned for their powerful and engaging live performances, Heart of a Coward have toured internationally, with bands such as Machine Head, Thy Art Is Murder, Sikth and Trivium.

Osiah

Hailing from the extreme music melting pot that is the North East of England, Osiah transcend the deathcore label with what could possibly be the most torturous barrage of filth the UK has produced in recent years. Crushingly intense breakdowns and deathly chops tread a familiar path, but jarringly detuned guitars, unpredictable tempo changes and vocals that range from wide-ranging pitched screams to commanding guttural bowel openers add an extra evil to the sound that cannot be put in words.

LOKUST

Formed in 2017 by Alexy Khoury and Jeremy Pringsheim, LOKUST is an ambiguous modern metal band based in London.
