The American rock band have previously headlined Coachella, Glastonbury Festival, multiple Lollapalooza festivals, as well as Reading & Leeds three times and Hyde Park an unprecedented five times. Being one of only a select few artists who have also performed at both Newcastle’s St James’ Park and Sunderland’s Stadium of Light, Kings Of Leon will take to the stage at Town Moor for the Sunday of the North East’s biggest ever music festival.

Joining Kings of Leon will be an incredible roster of special guests, including Courteeners, known for their chart-topping tracks "Not Nineteen Forever" and "Lose Control.”

Headliner:

Kings Of Leon

Tennessean alt-rock group comprised of three brothers and a cousin. The Kings Of Leon take their titles very seriously, producing country-laden rock’n’roll with hints of blues and boogie-woogie. Brought up in the Deep South and having spent most of their childhood’s travelling, the Kings Of Leon (whose name comes from the brothers' father and grandfather) have a deep, drawling, rootsy sound and a suitable legacy to match.

Courteeners

Manchester's Courteeners both look and sound as though they've come straight out of another time and place, and yet, somehow, are bang up to date. Think Babyshambles meets The Smiths and you'll be somewhere close to their gritty, electrifying sound. The band, who have been friends since childhood, have grown into one of the UK’s premier guitar bands delivering such era-defining anthems as ‘Not Nineteen Forever’, ‘Are You in Love with a Notion’, ‘How Good It Was’, ‘The 17th’ and last year’s ‘Hanging Off Your Cloud’.

The Reytons

The Reytons have quickly risen from hometown heroes in South Yorkshire to a nationally renowned indie-rock outfit. A word-of-mouth sensation, with huge industry support. "Busting with the working man grit and the no bulls**t ideals that we all fell in love with when the Arctic Monkeys burst onto the scene" - Gig Addict

The Snuts

Based in West Lothian, Scotland, this four-piece who grew up together are taking the Scottish scene by storm with their anthemic, sing-along indie tunes. Heavily influenced by the likes of the Libertines and Arctic Monkeys, however they have also been on record stating "one of our biggest inspirations is not to sound exactly like everybody else".
