About the show

Following his hugely successful, sell-out 'Wakeman & Son' show at the Corn Exchange, Rick Wakeman is returning to Devizes on 4th December to perform his new Christmas show, 'A Hint of Christmas'.

Rick will be joined on stage by his son Oliver and the very talented singer, Mollie Marriott, daughter of the legendary Steve Marriott.

Rick says, "The 2-hour show will feature Rick and Oliver's music, as well as some adapted Christmas favourites and a couple of surprises which will involve audience participation".

Classically trained pianist, Rick dropped out from the Royal College of Music to forge a career in music. He recorded 'Space Oddity' with David Bowie at the start of a career as a session musician in which he has played over 2000 different songs. A member of The Strawbs, he left to join rock supergroup Yes in 1971 - an association he has maintained irregularly over the subsequent years.

Rick has also recorded a number of highly successful solo albums, and has forged a side career as a professional raconteur; most recently as MC for Jongleurs comedy club. Rick's live shows range from rock to classical, from new age and new world music to incredibly funny storytelling.

Having supported and backed some of the best rock stars in the industry including Robert Plant, The Faces, Mark Knopfler and Paul Weller, Mollie (daughter of the Legendary Small Faces front man Steve Marriott) is set to take the industry by storm.

Mollie’s live performances exude a warm, charming rapport with her audience. Her sassy soulful blues vocals are full of classic influences. She can find a raw emotional edge that the best soul and rock singers have – at times rootsy and upscale through to modest and classy with a sustained relaxed feel.
