BBC Folk Award winner Sam Carter performs Ballads and Songs: Sam Carter sings Nic Jones, a heartfelt celebration of one of folk’s most influential voices. Nic Jones’s groundbreaking guitar style and emotive singing inspired generations of musicians. Though his career was cut short by a car accident in 1982, his influence endures; Nic’s masterpiece album Penguin Eggs is treasured more than 40 years on.
Hailed by Jon Boden as “the finest English-style fingerpicking guitarist of his generation,” Sam brings Nic’s timeless songs back to the stage for one season only; a rare chance to hear this remarkable repertoire live.
