About the show
CHELTENHAM CHAMBER ORCHESTRA DIAMOND JUBILEE!
Cheltenham Chamber Orchestra (CCO) will be marking the Orchestra's Diamond Jubilee Year in 2026 with a special concert at Cheltenham Town Hall on Saturday 17 January at 7.30 pm. The Conductor will be Toby Purser, and the programme will include Arnold's Serenade for small orchestra, Vaughan Williams' The Lark Ascending (soloist George Ewart), and Beethoven's Symphony No 6. The concert is being held in memory of Oliver Goldfinch who was a loyal supporter and friend of the CCO for many years.
The CCO was founded in 1966 by Laurence Hudson, and continues to sustain its reputation for bringing a wide variety of music to its audiences. Four concerts are held each year offering an extensive repertoire together with a high standard of performance, with subsidised tickets for young people. As well as working with established artists the Orchestra has a policy of providing a platform for talented young local musicians.
