Nouvelle Vague

Nouvelle Vague, the renowned bossa nova project founded by Marc Collin and the late Olivier Libaux in 2003, has become a musical phenomenon over the past two decades.

The name is a pun on the term 'new wave' as well as being used to describe 'bossa nova' in Portugese. For this project the duo took songs they loved by bands such as Joy Division and The Cure then re-interpreted them, using young vocalists who'd never heard the originals. The result is an intoxicating mix of bossa nova, jazz and sixties pop.
