We are delighted to welcome The Festival Players back to Winterbourne Medieval Barn with Shakespeare's entrancing romantic comedy As You Like It, directed by Michael Dyer, with music by Johnny Coppin.

Rosalind, the daughter of an exiled duke, is banished from the court by her uncle. Disguised as a young man calling herself Ganymede, she flees into the Forest with her cousin Celia. Orlando, who is already in love with Rosalind, does not recognise her in disguise, and a shepherdess falls in love with Ganymede who she thinks is a young man. The Forest is also inhabited by a colourful array of other folk looking for love, and of course chaos and confusion ensue in this delightful tale, full of comedy and music.

The Festival Players Theatre Company is a professional theatre company in their 39th year of touring, delivering the best in open-air Shakespeare, committed to presenting the very best in touring theatre. As in the Bard’s day, Festival Players International will be performing with an all-male company of skilled professional actors, and invite you to share in the fun of this amazing play.

Free parking at the Barn. If you need a wheelchair accessible parking or seating, please email in advance. The performance starts in the Barn at 7pm. Doors and bar open 6.15pm. Seating is unreserved. Tickets £16 (concessions £12). Book online.

The Festival Players

The Gloucestershire-based Festival Players are a talented touring company of professional actors and musicians, renowned for their outstanding open air Shakespeare performances which aim to make The Bard accessible to all. Every summer they take their high energy show to around 60 locations around England, Wales and Scotland – from National Trust properties to London squares, village greens and Scottish castles - as well as appearances at The Three Choirs Festival and Worcester Festival. In 2012 they took over the UK's longest established outdoor touring Shakespeare company Theatre Set-Up and the combined forces means the new-look Festival Players bring audiences more than 60 years' touring experience.
