About the show
The Playhouse, Backwell opened on 31st October 1951 as the home of The North Somerset Players. Initially located in a WW2 hut in the orchard of Mollie Griffin’s garden, the Playhouse has seen Backwell grow around it, entertaining the village with countless plays, events and films for 75 years.
