Tim Minchin, the incomparable singer-songwriter, pianist, comedian, actor, musical-theatre composer-lyricist and soft-hearted provocateur, is thrilled to be going back on tour with his ironically titled new show, Songs The World Will Never Hear. The tour marks the 20th anniversary of his explosive arrival onto the British comedy scene in 2005.
Get ready for an evening packed with unforgettable songs and stories, as Minchin looks back on how a Perth cabaret pianist ended up building one of the most eclectic and extraordinary careers in entertainment. Delivered with his signature blend of razor-sharp wit, musical virtuosity, and disarming honesty, the set list will draw from three decades of unique songwriting.
From comedy classics to tear-jerking Christmas songs… from boobs to existentialism… from fast fingering to free will… there’s nothing quite like an evening in the company of Tim Minchin.
Tim Minchin
Tim Minchin is an Australian musician, composer, songwriter, actor, comedian and writer. He has been performing his unique brand of musical comedy in front of appropriately excitable and ever-growing audiences since starting out in South Melbourne’s Butterfly Club in 2005. His songs span various musical styles and topics such as environmentalism, rationalism, prejudice(ism), logical fallacies(ism) and his amour de fromage et boobs. He plays the piano, wears skinny jeans and sports wildly teased hair. He worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC), to write the music and lyrics for Matilda The Musical. “If you’re going to play big spaces, this is the way to do it; with a 55-piece orchestra and a juggernaut full of showmanship, making this a big show in every sense…a superlative night out.” (Chortle)
