About the show

Glasgow’s SLIME CITY are three Michaels playing fast, existentialist nerd rock for “people who like both sighing and fighting.” Formed from the radioactive remains of cult indie band We Are The Physics, they’ve built a reputation for whip-smart songs and chaotic live shows that are equal parts absurdist musings and laboratory rock riot.

Following their debut album Slime City Death Club, which hit #5 on the Official Scottish Album Chart (and might’ve climbed higher if it wasn’t for that Lewis Capaldi), the band returned with their self-released second LP, National Record of Achievement in November 2025, featuring lead singles You Do The Math(s) and Trigger the Dads.

Entirely DIY from recording to release, it’s a gloriously strange, high-energy exploration of modern anxiety, toxic nostalgia, late-life neurodivergent diagnoses, and celebratory existentialism, packed with sharp hooks and sharper wit.

"10/10 It's really fucking good" - God Is In The TV

Fresh from sold out album launches in Glasgow and London, SLIME CITY launched into 2026 with a new array of crowd-pleasing anthems and electric live shows, which often feature a giant Tom from MySpace and a human man playing an electronic shoe.

FFO: Devo, Weezer, Yard Act, Bis, Cardiacs, Art Brut, Pulp, Mclusky, Brainiac, Sparks, Dead Kennedys, Turnstile, Polysics, DZ Deathrays, Undertones, Test Icicles

Sweetpool

SWEETPOOL create a thrilling, intense melting pot of psychedelic punk, flamenco and space noises - but this isn’t just noise for the sake of noise - they love a proper tune.

Think Can, Hawkwind, Pigbros, even The Groundhogs, hurled together with a dose of post punk. Songs like ‘In Winter’ and ‘Back to the Factory’ happily fly off into almost trance like repetition, powered by a pulsating rhythm section alongside the drone of what they call the ‘E pedal’ and augmented by bubbling synths. Then there’s the three minute angular pop of ‘Here Are the Stones’, ‘Scissors Cut’ and ‘Circular.’ Genres are made to be ignored. Preconceptions are made to be shattered.
