Melvin Hancox Band - Blues/Rock Psychedelia

On Friday 23rd October The Melvin Hancox Band make a welcome return to Joe Joe Jims.

Melvin has had a varied musical career from securing his first record deal at 16 to forming Joe Joe Jims favourites Vincent Flatts Final Drive and working with Budgie, Man, Tony McPhee, Canned Heat and the Ace Kefford, among many others.

The power trio – also featuring Mickey Barker on drums and James Hoskins on bass – plays original material along with a smattering of classic rock (Highway to Hell and Freebird have been known to put in an appearance, among others) and blues covers with their own twist - or in their words, “blues/rock played with more psychedelic experience and imagination than most“ - and we have enjoyed many great gigs from them over the years at JJJ.
