About the show
On the afternoon of Sunday 13th December we welcome duo Drifter to JJJ for an afternoon of acoustic blues, folk and rock & roll.
Comprising multi instrumentalist/singer Dave Small (who has played JJJ with a number of bands over the years including Arcadia Roots and The Mat Woosey Band) and guitarist Danny Gee (Arcadia Roots), the duo play a mix of covers - such as Richie Havens' Freedom and the classic Hoochie Coochie Man - and original compositions, all with a distinctive Drifter 'flavour' deriving from their wide range of influences from blues to world music and beyond.
The duo explain that when they first played together "the musical connection was instant, deep, almost telepathic" and after a break, they're now "getting back on it, back to basics, back to the blues where it all began for us" .... sounds good to us, and it will to you too!
