About the show
3rd July: Failed Experiment.
9th July: Progress.
What makes a monster? What thin veil conceals the evil within us? And what happens when it finally comes out roaring?
The Anatomy of Evil is a visceral reimagining of Robert Louis Stevenson’s The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, restructuring the story chronologically to expose the full descent of Dr Henry Jekyll into obsession, paranoia, and self-destruction.
Blending ensemble physical theatre with stylised movement, fragmented narration, visceral sound, and bold lighting, the production examines the duality of human nature and the shifting balance between civility and instinct. Through a magpie-like fusion of theatrical techniques, Sparkhouse Ensemble transforms Stevenson’s gothic horror into an intense and visually driven contemporary experience.
