The Nightingales at Ulster Sports Club, Belfast
Featuring - The Nightingales

The Nightingales was formed by former members of Birmingham's original punk group The Prefects. With an ever fluctuating lineup, based around lyricist / singer Robert Lloyd, the band recorded a bunch of singles, three albums and many radio sessions for John Peel before it stopped working in the late 80s.
Ted Chippington

Chippington's ruthless disregard for the conventions of stand-up made him a perennial outcast from the 1980s comedy scene. At a time when politically right-on performers such as Ben Elton and Harry Enfield were at their peak, Ted struggled to break through to a wider audience. However, his fans remain convinced of his status as a neglected comedy genius, and remember him with an affection that is rarely afforded to stand-up comics. Reportedly retired from showbusiness in the 1990s to pursue a career in truck-driving, Ted is now back!
