Acclaimed pianist Ruth McGinley presents a captivating programme for Belfast Music Society’s Northern Lights Mini-Fest. Renowned for her expressive artistry, Ruth explores the hypnotic sound world of Philip Glass through works including Metamorphosis, selected Études, and music from Glassworks and Mishima, before moving into the lyrical jazz-inspired landscapes of Keith Jarrett and Bill Evans, concluding with Evans’s timeless Peace Piece. A Major Individual Artist Award recipient, Ruth creates immersive performances that are intimate, reflective and deeply moving.

Ruth McGinley came to international attention after her success in the BBC Young Musician of the Year 1994. She has performed as a soloist with the major orchestras in Ireland and the UK and also has an interest in Classical crossover, which has led to her working with artists such as Hayley Westenra and The Priests.
